Campsite38 viewsThis shows the basic campsite. The other 7 sites to the north had trees. This one had a nice view southward and no trees nearby. The trees in the picture are on the opposite back of the river just beyond the tent. The river is about 50 yards wide at the point, about 15 feet below the level of the campsite.

My humble optics40 viewsI travelled light -- only carrying the NexStar 5, a photo tripod and my Canon 300D for imaging. My power for operations (including the laptop PC) at the campsite/observing area was supplied by my Optima battery and my power control box.

Night time setup40 viewsThis is how my stuff was setup for night. I observed with the NexStar 5. I took some short exposures with the Canon on the tripod. I didn't have a wedge with me for equatorial tracking.

This view is nearly due south.
